Come live and work on an Island

Live and work on the beach in a private cove on Catalina Island in California. Working as a member of our facilities, kitchen, or waterfront team, you will support the camps ministry to provide a place where campers are able to “come away, meet God, and be renewed.” As part of our “camp family” you will live in community only steps from the ocean, and serve students, adults, and families of all ages. We are looking for individuals with strong faith, a great work ethic, and a heart for serving our guests from March 1 through mid-November. Job training provided. Onsite housing. $16.90/hour

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (depending on position):
• Serve as a certified lifeguard at our ocean waterfront helping guests.
• Assist guests with kayaks, snorkel shop & other recreation gear.
• Provide on-going upkeep of grounds including waterfront & recreation areas.
• Perform regular cleaning of guest cabins, meeting rooms & bathroom facilities.
• Assist in the transportation of food, supplies, equipment & waste to/from CBS.
• Support the preparation & serving of foods in accordance with food safety, nutritional & dietary needs.
• Assist in the delivery, storage & tracking of food products.
• Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen areas & equipment.
• Lead our guests in cleaning and re-setting our dining room & dish area
• Support the ongoing ministry of the camp with a strong work ethic, servant’s heart, a desire to grow spiritually and a willingness to care for guests and other staff in our kitchen, dining room, dish area and laundry.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Annually affirm the Campus by the Sea Statement of Faith, Mission and Purpose.
• A willingness to be trained in the areas of: food handling, serving, guest host, dish steward, laundry facilities.
• Ability to exemplify the love of Christ through humble, excellent and genuine guest service.
• Must possess excellent personal hygiene and manners.
• At least 18 years of age
• Willingness to work at least 40 hours per week on a varied schedule including evenings, weekends and split shifts.
• Positive community participant.
• Ability to stand for long periods and to lift items.
