Shelterwood Academy is a Christian co-ed residential treatment center for struggling teens aged 12 to 19. If you are interested in working with struggling teens and beginning or furthering your career in social work, counseling, psychology, youth ministries, or special education, this is an excellent opportunity for training and career development.

Shelterwood is located on 200 beautiful acres in Independence, Missouri, 30 minutes northeast of Kansas City. In addition to our residential lodges, our facilities include a fully accredited school as well as a dinning hall, which offers delicious meals for students and staff. Additional property amenities include a seasonal saltwater swimming pool, new soccer field, official sand volleyball court, indoor gymnasium and weight room, Frisbee golf, and beautiful biking trails. Lakes, hiking trails, shopping, professional sports and a major airport are within a 40-minute radius.
